Hue was the imperial capital of the Nguyen Dynasty in the 17th Century and the capital of Vietnam from 1802 to 1945. In the Tet Offensive, during the Battle of Hue, the old citadel’s historical buildings suffered considerable damage. Today, under UNESCO protection, restoration is under way.

MarkontheMap gets stuck on the tourist trail in Hoi An

Looks like the rainclouds in Vietnam followed you to Hue. Can’t wait for your account of Hoi An. Tourist trail or not, I actually enjoyed the quaint charm of that little place. Completely tailored for the likes of me but meh. Still beautiful nonetheless. I hear its better explored by bicycle which I did not get to do.
Beautiful gorgeous shots Mark, your photography is getting better and better!
